With Heavy Hearts, We Announce the Passing of our Colleague: Zac Ewbank

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our co-workers, Zac Ewbank.  Zac passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2024.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 5pm EST at Veasey Creek Park in West Point, Georgia.

Zac began work with CWS in 2014 as a Field Technician in Beulah.  He left for a brief time, but then rejoined the company in May 2021 to serve as the Project Manager for the Lanett, AL water and wastewater systems. In 2022, he moved back to the Beulah, AL project where he served as a Field Technician.  Zac held an AL Grade 1 Water certification and was currently working to obtain his wastewater certification. He had a decade of new water and wastewater installation experience, as well as five years of water distribution and sanitary collections experience. Zac had also been a part of various traveling teams – assisting with the startup of the Inlet Beach project, serving in the disaster recovery efforts after the tornadoes in Mayfield, KY, and assisting with the Midlands, SC project.

According to Beulah Project Manager, Jeff Aston, “Zac was an extremely reliable and stalwart employee who hit the ground running. He had an incredibly positive energy and a work ethic that was second to none. In fact, he was the man who showed up to work on the first day with hip waders draped over his shoulder asking “Where do I start boss?!?” Zachary’s loyalty and dedication to his teammates and the community he served was exemplary.  Zac was an extremely loving father who spoke proudly of his daughters nearly every day, and he never missed a softball or volleyball game. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Zac and his family. Zac, you will be sorely missed.”

Please continue to keep Zac’s family, his co-workers, and other friends in your thoughts and prayers over the coming weeks.
