Leaders Participate in Pendleton WWTP Groundbreaking

CWS leaders in South Carolina recently participated in the groundbreaking event for the Pendleton Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade.  The project will involve expanding the system from 2 MGD to 5 MGD, adding a new influent pump station, new headworks and screening, expansion and upgrade of the tertiary filter and UV system, an additional digester, and a new electrical building.  It also includes installation of a new Activated Granular Sludge (AGS) system which will be the second largest in the nation and the first one located in the state of South Carolina.

The Pendleton Wastewater Treatment Plant serves the Town of Pendleton, City of Clemson, and Anderson County.  CWS has provided O&M services for the facility since April 2019.

The project has a price tag of $65 million and is estimated to take 24 months to be completed.  GMC is the Engineer for the project and Harper General Contractors serves as its Contractor.
