As we celebrate the start of a new year, we also celebrate our company’s 18th Anniversary! You probably know that ClearWater Solutions was founded and incorporated in January 2007 in Alabama. But do you know how our company began? Or which client is our oldest?
In 2006, leaders of Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC), an architecture and engineering firm, began discussing the needs of some of their municipal clients. While the clients were hiring GMC to build new, state-of-the-art treatment plants or upgrade their existing systems to improve performance, the client’s staff couldn’t operate or properly maintain them. GMC’s leaders realized the need to have certified operators and experienced maintenance technicians available to serve these systems with professional O&M expertise. And in January 2007, ClearWater Solutions was formed to provide operational, maintenance, and management services for water and wastewater systems.
Only a few months later - in April 2007 - CWS was awarded its first contractual agreement, a 10-year agreement to serve the North Choctaw Water & Sewer Authority. While that partnership ended in late 2023, the next longest-running contract, that with the City of Hoover, continues today under a newly extended agreement. In addition to Hoover, there are 12 other clients who have been a part of (legacy) CWS for more than 10 years.
While ClearWater Solutions has certainly changed over the years, the mission remains the same – to provide quality drinking water to the communities in which we serve. We look forward to continuing this work as we enter into 2025 and for many years to come.
